  Dear Maddss sir,

Hahhahaa that was really fun and very well written article, I certainly enjoyed reading it ever my garam cup of coffee. I have a complaint, I feel you make us all at Sulekha wait a little longer than required for your articles, lol.

Shri Vijaya, you are one of the few that have contributed to the idea...I was talking about he nearly 300 people who have read this and just gone back...I hope at least some of them come back with more -- if they have some knowledge from more experienced sources, they could give that input too...

Like you say, the bigger schools are likely to be more resistant to these ideas...let us hope to rein them in in the longer run...

Dear sir,

 You say:

"Indeed, Manu serves as their favourite whipping boy of Indian history"

What ever justification one may give for the goodness of this ManuSmriti, we cannot deny that this was used by the higher class of people in the past to bring in caste discrimination, pushing down women in society and exploiting the working masses to benefit the royal and priestly class minority. This is not a communist slogan. It is a historical fact haunting our society even now in different form of politics.

truthbetold

I understand the history behind sati but the people who practised it all the time was not doing it to protect the women from invaders. it was just like woman being dumped in kashi and other holy sites or forced to lead a life of hardship while men who lost their wife dont have to do anything....

Whatever be the reason in the old it was long forgotten and many a poor woman was tied to fire and burned to death. The poor woman did not have  a choice in majority of the case and the culture and religion thrust it down on them...

In this contest the stupid comment from Rajmata ...was very revolting to say the least

Every religion has its faults let us not try to justice certain practises just because one belongs to that religion....

Dear Ronald,

This indifferent attitude is mainly caused by the very biased media, because the media is the one that downplays all this, electronic as well as print, the other day I was reading this article posted on our own Sulekha it self on who owns majority of these media, it is either the Muslims or the biased anti-Hindu community, Indians are much more innocent than many can would every believe, they are being bombarded with the very biased types of news, for example when Godhra carnage happened, where 38 Hindus( women, children and Sadus)  not a single major news paper or media reported it more than 3 days, but when the majority Hindus got agitated and hit back this became a humanitarian crisis, I ask why? Why not the media ever condemn the death of those innocents.

Similarly where if the media feels that is because more people in the Muslim community died, then where are these bastards when Kashmiri Pandits are every day raped killed and made to flee from their home land, which is Kashmir? Or do humanitarian rights belong only to the Muslims who are protected by some pseudo-secularists headed by the congress and communist who has very vested interests.

Islam is not a threat only to Democracy but also Humanity as a whole.

Regards

Ronny
