From what I have read or discussed with people in the field so far, the one thing that comes to my mind is that it is one way of nature punishing people who do not live a life of "balance".

Everything in the universe is balanced. When disturbed due to reasons known or unknown it causes calamities like tsunami or earthquake or epidemic and so on in the outer world.

Our own body is the greatest system imaginable. But it needs a "balanced living" to be free from ill health. Modern systems of medicine have researched and found out the causes of most of the diseases suffered by people and also found many cures. CFS is one which needs more research.

A person suffering from CFS should definitely get medical attention from a qualified Doctor of any system of medicine in which he has faith.

An awareness of the following will accelerate the recovery:

Our body depends on proper flow of Heat, Water and Air. These are called Prakritis in Ayurveda under the names Vata,Kapha and Pittha. A person who has a balanced Prakriti will always have good health. The inputs required for balance are: (1) Proper food, Quantity, quality and time. (2) Adequate sleep (3) Stress free life

These things are easier said than done.

1) Proper food: It should contain adequate fruits and vegetables/salads. Most of the people of normal health get adequate proteins from what they eat. They do not really need a supplement in proteins or carbodhydrates. However they fall severely short of Micronutrients and Phytonutrients leading to an imbalanced diet.Plant food contains a multiplicity of nutrients, all of which are required for good health. They also need anti-oxidants which are cell protectors that prevent cell damage caused by free radicals generated in the body. This cell damage manifests itself in a variety of degenerative diseases.

WHO recommends a minimum daily intake of 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day, to reduce risk of these illnesses. The colours that form the outer layer of fruits and vegetables are the source of rich anti-oxidants and health giving substances. Apple , Orange, Green leafy vegetables like Palak, Carrot, Amla  and sprouted grains form a vital healthy diet.

2) There is a biological clock in every human which works based on their habits formed in their younger days. A person habituated to having lunch at 1 PM and dinner at 8 PM, if he starts having lunch at different hours from 2  PM to 4 PM or dinner from 10 PM to midnight over a period of time, completely make this clock go awry.It starts manifesting itself into a fatigue, which over a period of time could make it chronic.

3) Sleeping at night and working during day is the natural way. This is particularly so because, among the glands in our body, the Pineal gland is a very vital gland. It secretes "Malatonin" after sunset and that too only when the person is sleeping. This is the fluid which removes day to day stresses and charges the body with essential inputs for healthy living. If a person works a major part of the night and sleeps during the day time, the malatonin secretion in his body is depleted, and that also causes severe fatigue symptoms

4) Stress free living: Regular practice of meditation, participating in satsangs, yoga, pranayama and positive mental attitude, looking at the brighter side of things etc go a long way in reducing stresses and make us enjoy our life more than what we do now.

Can we have an action plan among sulekhans to try and solve the problem instead of just sitting and talking about it?

Enzo, first thing is you will never get a heart attack, if you have not yet got it at the plight of Indian cricket!
Second thing is the beauty you have reffered to in F1 must surely be beautiful. And one needs to ride a beauty (no pun) to get the high speed gives.
