"At the end I just realized that Maths is a piece of cake for people who believe in it. To whom numbers are nor mere numbers but something that have their own life and meaning for their life!! "

Divya,

I could feel your passion for physics. I like these words (konjam suttukiraen). Anything is a piece of cake for people who believe in it. Life is a series of SINE waves. We all face cycles (ups and downs) in life. We begin at zero, experience positive and negative peaks and end at zero. Frequencies might differ, amplitude might differ - finally we all face the same. For a change, my religion taught me this scientific concept.

Math and Science - your religion
Tamil Brahmin - your caste ??

You love math and science not because you are a Tamil Brahmin. coz you are sincere and passionate. coz you were given a chance to get good education. Guess you wrote it out of ignorance.

Keep writing,
PS.

Murders of one or two by muslims in H'bad, all of Gujarat, Mumbai, all of Kerala and Rajasthan are now igniting riots or near riots as witnessed in the recent *real* events. Usually, an RSS activist is murdered or Ganesh or Hanuman procession is stoned - [lynching is long gone in USA but continues In the Holy Land of India in the new millennium to this day] or some anniversary say of babri demolition day gives mental ammunition for the muslims to go ona killing spree running killing fields. Generally peaceful south has become a hotbed of savage attacks like in Coimbatore in TN. Hoisting of pakki flags may start a riot in some areas.
During babri aniversary [?], 500 FIVE HUNDRED HINDUS FLEED/FLED INTO A GURUDHWARA FOR SHELTER FOR ABOUT A WEEK A FEW MONTHS AGO.

Authorities in Godhra in the western Indian state of Gujarat have imposed a curfew in some areas following a clash between Hindus and Muslims late on Friday.
The incident began when a procession by Hindus to celebrate a religious festival - the Ganesh Mahotsava - was passing by a mosque. "

"Lawyer and human rights activist Girish Patel said communal feelings were always strong in Ahmedabad. The Muslim League was a powerful factor before Partition and many of the future leaders of Pakistan, like its former foreign minister Chundirgar, lived here.

The city had two strong political camps, led by the Congress and the Muslim League respectively. The Muslim League often bagged most of the seats in the municipal election.

During the 1941 communal riots, the Hindus took a terrible beating and never forgot it. Khadia, within the walled city, became a stronghold of Hindus, but there was no militancy in the area. The 1945 communal riots were milder, but when India became free, it was hoped that Hindus and Muslims could live together in peace. This happened for some time.

The year 1969 was a watershed in communal relations. The Hindu-Muslim riots killed more than 5,000 people and Ahmedabad became a vast burial ground. [[[/////////COMPARE 5000 TO LESS THAN 800 IN POST-GODHRA///but Hon Modi was blamed endlessly for as a delayed response; even anti-Sikh and post-babri riots had more casualty*******]]]

The riots were aggravated because of the conflict between the Congress government led by Indira Gandhi at the Centre, and the state government led by Hitendra Desai of the Congress-O.
////////////////////GODHRA NUMBERS////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
"726 people in all were killed; of this number, we were told, 552 were Muslims and 168 were Hindus including, never forget, the 58 kar sevaks charred in a railway bogey. Reporter Pandey reiterated that in the first month of police firing the Muslims killed were 40 while Hindus so killed were 60."
[[[ There were 1 + 5 + 34 + 1 = 41 cops on patrol to face a mob of 25,000. ]]]

Another troubling devt is blaring religious music [Hindu posh colonies in H'bad] and x'ian and muslim type all over other places. Even shopping malls have loud arabic music with boom box going all day. Residential areas have xians singing very, very, very loud christ songs esp-ly during weekends. Now with this new info, Paul might like to re-write/recast his whole article all over again!

"To me Maths and Physics are life and my world."

Divya,

Nice to hear a woman have such passion about Math and Physics. But, what are you going to do about it?

Hope you really pursue..inventing something, discovering something also find ways to create interest in the minds of little ones (they have so many distractions these days).

Besides, Kiran Bedi's points, there are other differences too:=

Referring to Hinduism's inclusiveness vs abrahamic exclusiveness, I must say that similar idea, Bush's tribal - 'us' vs 'them' - is the source of most violent terrorism and church assaults on many of the native cultures/Sanskritis – minority believers vs Hindu non-believers.

The contrast is stark indeed:
1. Fascism of the believers vs Universalism of non-believers
2. Exclusiveness of the believers vs inclusiveness of non-believers
3. Tribalism of the believers vs progressiveness of non-believers
4. Narrow-minded parochialism of the believers vs broad pluralism of non-believers.

"Doubtless, the Catholic Church will continue to lobby against such reforms, making reform difficult. But
the fact that justice is hard to achieve, is no excuse for not striving for it.

Too many children have been hurt too much, for too long. The failure to change, at this point - with all
this evidence before us - would be inexcusable.

The facts demand reform, and the politics, for once, need to be set aside for the sake of our children."

You Hindus have almost no tool - nor govt protection, sadly. But you can surely put a stop to their assaults and attacks by total **boycott** and get some measure of social justice.

Or else, pluralism mj akbar and all his 110+ mil islamists enjoy so much - will continue to be abused by more violent attacks and blighting cultural conversion assaults. Even Paul or alex is impotent to protect you. Empower yourself by boycott!

This is both your home sickness speaking and reality setting in.

But, one suggestion to make life comfortable - at all levels , material, social, cultural - is to get involved.

You can try out any volunteer organizations that need help. You can get involved in cultural/educational organization that require help. By contributing to the social group, you will make frieds and before you know it, you will have a group of friends.

As they say in meditation, experience hte "here and now". Most of the thoughts of the mind are always about the past or the future.
