wonderful column...very impressive.
you probably are aware of this, but I think readers should know that Arun Gandhi, is closely associated with the Christian Brothers University (a Catholic institution in Tennessee - http://www.cbu.edu/Gandhi/.
To Astro,
there is a handful of you guys on Sulekha, commenting on columns all the time and take every discussion, whether humour, sports, anthrapology or whatever in just one direction..p-secs, saving the culture, religion, etc.....u guys have lost the spontaniety and humour of life...take a break from sulekha.
and on Shiv-Sena...the author put a fact in a light hearted vein....don't know where you have picked up the word berating from....without knowing what it stands for.
I heard on Zee-TV clearly some local Shakha in Mumbai issuing the threat that the author talks about.
As someone said this interview is a bit too long. But the pleasant voice and well articulated answers by RG, this should have flopped miserably.
Of course others can also conduct similar interviews with Sulekha characters or others whose opinions may be interesting/valuable. But please make them short. In any case, this is a novel idea and the interviewer deserves congratulations. Perhaps someone will interview the publishers and editors of Sulekha or some well-known personalities in the Desi community.
To Sharisupari:
How dare you comment on mmy comments? Dont you know that I am a 60+ wise man who was a freedom fighter during my teens? I write lot of columns on Sulekha and am a very respectable individual.. So, I can talk anything against anyone, okay..
Pulkit Desai:
I don't know what exactly you are refering to here, but from my little knowledge of CS if a program has compile errors ie. does not compile then it cannot run, hence no question of runtime errors.

“I love Indian women,” he said to me. He was a white male of 36 years from London. I could imagine most Indian women feeling flattered that this white guy had deigned to talk to them. Here was an intelligent guy who had abandoned all white women and decided to seek a woman from a third world country. I watched them preen as he flattered them, spreading the butter thickly. So why was my nose all out of joint?
You seem to single yourself out as some enlightened soul who'd be offended when a white guy says "I love Indian women" while portraying "most Indian women" as idiots who'd lap up the praise.
Who's stereotyping here? - the man who talked about Indian girls or you?
