Sulekha.com would like to thank all its bloggers for their overwhelming participation in the Penguin-BLOGPRINT Contest.

When we announced the Penguin-Blogprint Contest in July, we knew we had set the wheels of creativity in motion. Over the next six months, we have been awe-struck by the display of sheer creativity, ingenuity and originality of our bloggers. As we read the hundreds of entries that poured in each month, we were left with a feeling of pride that indeed, Sulekha.com does boast of some of the most talented bloggers in blogdom. Take a bow Sulekha bloggers, youve done us proud!

Now for the next step. Whom do we invite to judge the final 25 of the Sulekha Penguin Blogprint contest? Should we invite eminent writers from the literary field? We though about that, and were actually quite convinced at first. But then it struck us that the writing on Sulekha, like most writing on the web is very different from formal literary writing as we know it. Writing on Sulekha is often spontaneous, perceptive, conversational and insightful all at the same time, and often to appreciate it completely, we need someone with an eye for the trivial as well as the details; the humor and the pain; the delight and the despair. So we did away with the eminent writers and picked the people who are experts in creating best sellers Penguin Books! Thats right, who could be better to pick the final 25 posts than the publishers themselves? Penguin Books has graciously accepted to use their discerning eye to select the final list of winners.

Sulekha.com is also jumping on the judging bandwagon. Were looking at various parameters such as readers interest and participation on every blog, and coming up with our own list of selections which we will be providing to Penguin as recommendations. These recommendations from the Sulekha team will help Penguin choose the final 25 posts that get published in the book! You can expect to hear from us by the end of April! Meanwhile, well be busy creating a best seller!
